Barbara
Gruber is best known for writing resource books and presenting
seminars for K-6 teachers nationwide. Barbara and Sue
wrote the Instant Idea Books series for Frank Schaffer Publications
which included twenty-four books. That series of books, along
with Barbara's best selling 100% Practical book, are used in classrooms
every day. She also writes reproducible curriculum materials for
K-6 students. Teachers across the country know Barbara from the
curriculum and classroom management seminars she presented nationwide
for Frank Schaffer Publications. For fifteen years, she presented
one-day seminars to over 10,000 teachers each year. Teachers flocked
to the seminars because they were practical and filled with so
many wonderful ideas. Barbara has years of experience as a classroom
teacher and is a reading specialist. She excels at helping teachers
use educationally-sound ideas in ways that excite today's children.
And, she helps teachers have "a life beyond teaching."
Recently, she created the complete series of Word Wall products
for Practice and LearnRight. Her book "How to Use Word Walls"
is a best-seller nationwide. Barbara lives on a farm in northern
California with two cats, two dogs and her husband who is a grape
grower. Barbara loves offering courses online because she can
continue her favorite endeavor - working with teachers everywhere.
Sue
Gruber is currently a kindergarten teacher in northern California.
She has taught the third, fourth, and fifth grades. Sue offered to help Barbara write a science
book for Frank Schaffer Publications. That was her first experience
working on a book. She discovered she had a knack for writing
and brainstorming ideas with Barbara! Hence, a mother-daughter
writing team was launched. Barbara was thrilled to have a writing
partner and Sue was eager to learn the craft of writing for teachers.
Since then, they've written dozens of idea books and curriculum
products together. Sue frequently does presentations in her school
district sharing ideas with teachers. For six years, Sue presented
summer seminars for K-6 teachers for Frank Schaffer Publications.
Sue, her husband and son live in Sonoma County.
Barbara & Sue can help you rediscover the joy of teaching within the
reality of today's classrooms.
